      PRODUCT REVIEW

Watch this short product review on Level R Extra Heavy Cut Compound for marine gelcoat

      REMOVES HEAVY OXIDATION

Revive is a state of the art heavy cut compound that removes heavy oxidation from faded gel coat and marine paint with ease. You will be amazed by the results.

      DIMINISHING ABRASIVES

Revive contains diminishing abrasive technology which allows for aggressive cutting action with the ability to finish down like a polish leaving a mirror like shine.

      LONG LIFE CYCLE

Unlike other heavy cut compounds on the market, you can cycle this product several times without the worry of the material dusting up as soon as you get started.

      FINISHES LIKE A POLISH

This particular formula provides just the right bit of lubrication to finish down well enough to leave a minimal amount of swirls and holograms to refine.

      CHOOSE THE PERFECT RECONDITIONING KIT

If your vessel is in need of heavy reconditioning, we have put together a few recommendations on the perfect kit for your gel coat or marine paint based on the length of your boat.

      Frequently asked questions

We recommend a rotary buffer for the best results

We recommend using a white wool pad. Either the double sided 8″ x 1.5″ or the single sided 7.5″ x 1.5″ will give you the best results. The white convoluted waffle pad will work well too on softer marine paints.

You should run the buffer starting out at about 900 to 1100 RPM starting out with about 10 to 15 lbs of pressure. Once the material is spread out and worked in, kick the buffer up to 1200 to 1500 RPM with 5 to 10lbs of pressure and work the material until there is very little residual to remove.

The gel coat or marine paint should have depth of gloss with some slight swirls and holograms that will be removed through the polishing process. If you feel like the depth and clarity is not returning, you may require a wet sand. Click here to review our blog post on wet sanding.

Once you are finished with Starke Level R, we recommend following up with Starke Elevate paired with a yellow wool pad and rotary buffer. Once this step is complete, switch over to a dual action polisher and orange polishing pad to finish up refining any holograms or fine swirls. At this point, 90% of the defects in the substrate should be removed. Now its time for your sealant. Use a dual action polisher paired with the white foam pad to spread a very thin even layer of sealer.

Best Compound I have ever used. It has a long and aggressive life cycle that eats thru oxidation without dusting out, even under the hot Florida sun. After 30 years of professional boat detailing and using tons of different products, I would say these guys have it figured out.
