Mildew Clean is the Starke Clean System's targeted cleaner for set-in mold and mildew stains on marine vinyl, canvas, gelcoat, and synthetic surfaces. The professional-grade sodium hypochlorite formula penetrates and lifts deep-set mold and mildew staining — not just the discoloration on top — and brightens dingy vinyl and gelcoat as it cleans.
Regular boat soaps and multi-purpose cleaners are designed to remove surface dirt, not set-in mold and mildew stains. Wiping those stains with a standard cleaner usually just smears them across the surface. Mildew Clean is formulated specifically to remove them.
Apply with complete surface coverage over all stained areas, including the edges of visible staining. Allow 5 to 20 minutes of dwell time depending on how set-in the staining is — you'll see the stains break down during dwell. Light agitation with a soft brush if needed, then rinse thoroughly. On fabric and canvas, follow with Starke Shield to help resist water and staining between cleanings.
