STARKE LIQUID KRAKEN — MARINE GRADE GRAPHENE NANO COATING

There is a reason Liquid Kraken sits at the top of the Starke lineup. It isn't the price. It's the chemistry.

Graphene is a single layer of carbon atoms in a hexagonal lattice — one atom thick, harder than diamond per unit thickness, with thermal conductivity that exceeds copper. It won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2010. And it is what separates Liquid Kraken from every SiO2 ceramic coating on the market.

The commercial difference that matters most to boat owners is water spot resistance. SiO2 coatings have oxygen-containing surface groups that calcium and magnesium ions — the minerals in hard water and saltwater — chemically bond to. That's how water spots form. Graphene's carbon lattice doesn't offer those bonding sites the same way. The result is 50 percent better water spot resistance compared to standard ceramic coatings. For boats in Florida, the Bahamas, or anywhere hard water and salt cycle together on a daily basis — that improvement is visible and real.

The thermal conductivity of graphene dissipates heat across the coating surface rather than allowing it to concentrate in spots. On a boat sitting in direct summer sun, that difference prevents the localized thermal degradation that shortens coating life and causes premature failure on lesser products.

Application requires preparation and respect. Surface must be fully corrected and decontaminated before Kraken touches it. IPA prep removes polishing residue that would prevent bonding. Apply with a suede applicator — 4 to 10 drops depending on surface area, thin and consistent strokes. The coating appears dark when wet. That is normal. That is the graphene. Watch for the corduroy pattern — when your application strokes become clearly visible across the surface, flash is complete and leveling begins. Two clean microfibers: primary towel to remove, insurance towel to catch any high spots. Twenty-four to 48 hours initial cure with no water contact. Seven to 14 days for full hardness development.

Liquid Kraken works on most surfaces — gelcoat, marine paint, powder coat, and glass.
