Mildew Clean is the Starke Clean System's targeted intervention for established mold and mildew growth on marine vinyl, canvas, gelcoat, and synthetic surfaces. The professional-grade sodium hypochlorite formula destroys the mold organism at the cellular level — eliminating root structures that penetrate beneath the visible surface, not just cleaning the stain on top of them.
Regular boat soaps and multi-purpose cleaners are designed to remove surface contamination. They are not designed to kill biological organisms. Wiping active mold growth with a standard cleaner moves live spores to adjacent areas and the colony reestablishes — often larger than before. Mildew Clean addresses the problem at its source.
Apply with complete surface coverage over all affected areas. Allow 5 to 20 minutes of dwell time depending on how established the growth is — the chemistry works visibly during dwell, breaking down the organism in real time. Light agitation with a soft brush if needed, then rinse thoroughly. Follow with Repel Fabric to create a molecular barrier that makes future mold adhesion significantly more difficult.
